Trade is an incredibly complex ecosystem involving multiple stakeholders with ~80% documents being exchanged in physical form during a shipment. Creating an ecosystem which fosters widespread adoption of digital documents can potentially unlock huge savings in cost and time in addition to significant reduction in the carbon footprint. One key element is to enable interoperability across different existing platforms, thereby creating an ever expanding connected ecosystem without the need to re-engineer existing processes.

Letters of Credit involve sharing of different types of documents between Seller, Buyer and Banks. These documents include those which are generated by other stakeholders like Transporters, Insurers, Chambers of Commerce, Customs etc. SDEX enables digitization of the entire process by digitalising documents, validating them and ensuring that they are shared over a tamper proof blockchain network in near real time leading to significant efficiencies and working capital savings.
